I went up to a Smart Car breakers today and picked up a pair of 12v Bosch electric window motors. They come attached with reduction gearboxes attached which would normally attach into the window regulator to move the window up and down. The reduction boxes are important because it turns the high speed, low torque of the motors into a slower but more torque and so should allow The Honey Badger to move reliably even with the big 17ah battery on the robot.
I need new brackets to attach the motors to the chassis and then new wheels to attach onto the spindles. The weapon also needs a wheel to attach the blades onto. I had originally thought of a single bar blade but a use of a wheel allows the following:
The blades are a set of right angled brackets which I intend to sharpen up. :)
